Tapestries
By Lindsay Renee Neumann
From the beginning of time
God has been weaving a tapestry
Carefully choosing each thread
Different colors and textures
Weaving them together to form the
perfect design
This tapestry is me
The treads are gently woven
together
Forming an intricate and beautiful
pattern
Looking closely it is hard to see
how everything works together
Why this thread is here, or that
thread is there
We cannot understand
The colors may seem off, and
beautiful pattern is lost
But when we step back
The whole picture comes into view
Revealing a design
Far more wonderful than we could
begin to imagine
This tapestry is the work of the
Master
There is one particular thread
Woven into this tapestry
A bright thread, a vibrant thread
One full of laughter, full of joy
Full of memories, full of tears
This thread appears only for a
short time
Then it seems lost, hidden among the
rest
But if one were to step back
And take in the whole pattern of
the tapestry
They would clearly see that this
small, seemingly insignificant thread
Brings life, brings meaning
Playing an important part in the
grand design
This thread is you.
God brings people into our lives
for a season
It is not ours to know why, or for
how long
We can only treasure every moment
Hold onto every memory
And with a prayer
We let go
~forever we are a
part of one another’s tapestries~
