Resurrection Day 2004

Easter is always a special time in my house. Easter is also my absolute favorite holiday. The story of Easter is a story of hope, and thats what this holiday brings. Hope for all man kind, through God's Son, Jesus Christ.

I hope you enjoy joining my family for our Resurrection Day celebration.

An Easter tradition that we have is to make "Resurrection Cookies" on Easter Saturday.

Mom reads the Easter story at each step of making the cookies.

Caleb and Lukey enjoying our special time

Mom helps the kids put the cookies on the tray.

Each part of the cookie is significant: crushed nuts represent the beating of Jesus, vinegar represents the vinegar given to Jesus on the cross, the salt is for the tears shed by Jesus followers after He died, and the eggs represent life. Lastly the sugar, is for the sweetest part of the story... Jesus didn't stay dead!

The final part is putting the cookies in the "tomb" (the stove) overnight. Whats gonna happen in the porning?

We get to eat the cookies on Resurrection morning! And guess what? They are empty inside, just like the empty tomb!

Easter Sunday was a doubley special day for us this year, because it was also Malia and Micah's 9th birthday!

Malia shows off her new sketchpad and crayons.

Micah is just a wee bit excited about his new bug catcher.

Mali got some pretty fabric for new jumpers.

Lukey oohs and ahhs over Malia's presents.

Caleb made story books for his big brother and sister.

Hannah made Mali a Beauty and the Beast story book.

Micah shows everyone his coloring book, made special by Hannah and Corey.

Malia and Micah read there new Bible story books from mom and dad.

Make a wish Mali!

Micah blows out all his candles with one big breath.

Happy Birthday Malia Rose!`

Happy Birthday Micah Ryan David.

And Happy Ressurection Day Everyone! May God Bless you!
